Fermioniq explores magnetism with Quantinuum

Apr 2, 2025

Collaboration is at the core of the quantum tech ecosystem - and here's a great case in point:

Quantum emulation company Fermioniq (part of the Infinity programme) has shared details of how it worked with Quantinuum on a study into using quantum computers to rival classical computing in improving our understanding of magnetism.

As Fermioniq explains:

“[The study] demonstrated the capabilities of Quantinuum’s H2 quantum computer for simulating quantum magnetism at the limit of classical methods. This work is an important step on the path towards achieving quantum advantage for a task of practical utility.
“Fermioniq’s quantum circuit emulator Ava provided a benchmark against which the quantum simulations could be compared, further demonstrating the use of quantum emulators as tools to guide and accelerate quantum computing development.”
