Were you at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this month? Our own Iain Thompson was, and he came away very impressed.
Iain was giving a talk about opportunities for quantum tech in the telecoms sector (the topic of one of our recent reports). And with a capacity crowd plus people waiting at the door to hear the latest updates on quantum and its use cases, it was a big success.

Iain says MWC was a perfect joining of all the forces in global telecom, with a clear focus on the future.
His main takeaways:
- Security by design: Most infrastructure has a security layer added later and then 'patched' many times. At MWC, the discussion was about building infrastructure that has security embedded
- Offensive security: Don't wait for it to happen, because it will
- There's no time to only focus only on AI, PQC, or quantum. They now need to be addressed all at the same time, as each one feeds and strengthens the others
